JA Inspire Virtual 2021

From May 4-August 4, over 80 local businesses, community organizations, colleges and universities came together to present JA Inspire Virtual. This brand-new, 24/7 on-demand career exploration experience allowed over 1,400 students from the greater Fairfield County area to discover new and exciting possibilities for education and attainable jobs aligned with local workforce development initiatives.

During this pilot event, students had the opportunity to visit virtual exhibit booths in 5 different industry specific exhibit halls:

• Education & Training
• Arts, Communications, Public & Human Services
• Healthcare, Science, Information Technology & Energy
• Manufacturing, Transportation & Logistics
• Business, Finance, Marketing & Insurance

The virtual exhibitor booths featured relevant career information from the various companies, including videos, documents, links to webpages, sample job postings, and much more. Through the information found at the virtual exhibit booths, students gained a greater understanding about what it would be like to work at that company. The Education & Training hall featured local colleges and universities, and the opportunities that are within. Students were able to save any documents or videos to a virtual backpack to download/view at a later time.

Visitors were also able to take advantage of visiting the virtual auditorium, which featured webinar videos from subject experts, as well as an Entrepreneur Hub, where they had the chance to learn tips and tricks from local entrepreneurs.
