January 13, 2025 – Today, we honor and celebrate the remarkable journey of Bernadine (Bern) Venditto as she prepares to step down from her role as President of Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County. For close to 20 years, Bern has been the heart of our organization, steering through change, challenges, and transformative growth. Under Bernadine’s guidance, JAGFC has achieved numerous milestones:
· Expanding Financial Literacy Programs: JAGFC spearheaded initiatives that brought critical financial education to thousands of students across the region, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in life.
· Launching Innovative Career Readiness Initiatives: JAGFC introduced cutting-edge programs connecting students with local businesses and mentors, fostering career exploration and preparedness.
· Growing Community Partnerships: JAGFC’s efforts to build strong partnerships with schools, businesses, and community leaders have significantly expanded JAGFC’s reach and impact.
· Leading Through Change: During Bern’s tenure, Junior Achievement merged two regions to become Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County. Bern also led the organization through the pandemic while maintaining financial stability and continuing to deliver value to our students.
Bern has been a tireless advocate for youth empowerment, ensuring that JAGFC remains at the forefront of addressing educational and economic challenges. Her dedication to equity, innovation, and community engagement has not only shaped our work but has also inspired countless others to join in advancing our mission. Bern has recruited an outstanding staff and has built excellent relationships in the communities we serve. She has enjoyed extraordinary support from her Board of Directors, and we will miss her.
Looking Ahead
While we bid farewell to Bern as President, we are excited about the future. JAGFC has launched a comprehensive search for its next leader—someone who will build upon the strong foundation Bernadine has laid and guide us into the next chapter of our journey. Please find the job announcement here.
